Meet the Team

Julie McDonald, MMS, PA-C

Physician Assistant/Owner

Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula,  Julie is a graduate of Westwood High School then went on to study Biology at Michigan Tech University.  Next she went on to receive her Masters in Medical Science studies at Midwestern University outside of Chicago.  She has been working in the medical field for over 20 years, working in several medical specialties including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.

Julie enjoys taking care of her community and neighbors helping to improve their overall health and well-being.  She has brought her medical knowledge and expertise to create Monarch Healthcare.  Her goal has always been to create a better patient and provider experience.   She is doing just that by focusing on seeing less patients daily and providing the best care she can for her patients.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family enjoying the UP., whether it be camping, mountain biking, hiking, skiing or being a soccer Mom!

Lacy Williams, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Lacy Williams is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She is a graduate of Northern Michigan University (BS in Nursing) and Purdue University (MS in Nursing).

She is involved in the entire continuum of care from infancy to elderly “that means I can assess, diagnose and treat most conditions that present to the clinic. I also know that patients with complex conditions sometimes need to see a specialist.” She understands the importance of collaborating with her patients to support their long-term health goals. “My passion is in health promotion and education, teaching patients about maintaining a balance for optimal health”.

In Lacy’s free time, you can find her with her face buried in a good book or a good meal (sometimes both), traveling, or spending time with her husband, Eric and two kids, Alliyah and Eddie.

Chauntelle Taylor, FNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

A U.P. native, Chauntelle is a graduate of Negaunee High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Northern Michigan University. She went on to receive her master’s in nursing from Bradley University. She has been in the medical field for a total of 18 years, working in Family Medicine, Wound Care, and Occupational Medicine.  She is credentialed through the ANCC.

Having meaningful patient-provider relationships is central to Chauntelle’s practice; she is particularly passionate about providing preventative services for all of her patients and helping patients with mental health care. She currently sees adolescents and older.

Outside the office, Chauntelle enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the world with her daughter, and spoiling her 2 nephews (Jack and Carson).

Annie Skewis, DNP, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Annie Skewis is a Board Certified Doctor of Nursing Practice.  While she can see patients of all ages, her main focus is on Pediatrics.  One of Annie’s favorite things is watching “her babies” grow up and helping them with any healthcare happenings in their lives – she truly feels like she is a part of the families of her patients.

Annie is a Sagittarius, enjoys walks on the shores of Lake Michigamme, basketball (she is the Varsity Girls’ Coach at Westwood High School) and being with her family.  Her husband Jake and Annie share 4 beautiful children, Mia, Faith, Lena and Eric who she loves very much.  Annie is also CEO of Mia’s Wings, a non-profit organization named for her stillborn daughter that helps raise awareness of and support for families going through a stillborn, miscarriage or neonatal loss.

Jennifer Lahti, LPN

Manager, Clinical Operations

Jen is originally from Land O’ Lakes, WI where her parents built a fishing resort on the Cisco Chain of lakes, and she spent her summers getting to know the tourists, cleaning cabins and working in their general store and  bait shop.
She moved to Marquette initially to attend NMU’s music education program, but after getting a part time job at the hospital she found a desire to do more in healthcare and ended up completing NMU’s LPN program, electing to keep her love of music as a hobby.  She now has over 20 years experience in the healthcare field, including bedside nursing, clinical care, home health and hospice care.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family outside, going to her daughter’s basketball and softball games, biking, kayaking, and exploring the beautiful Upper Peninsula.  She also has a passion for creating things and finds great enjoyment in painting, doing various crafts, and canning with products from her backyard garden.

Michael McDonald

Business Operations/Owner

Mike is a U.P. native, a graduate of Kingsford High School, and went on to serve 23 years in the Air Force as a Armament Systems Specialist.  His duty locations included Virginia, Korea, Alaska, and Idaho, as well as multiple deployment locations all over the world.

The most rewarding time for Mike was when he was selected to serve in a special duty at the Airmen and Family Readiness Center.  His responsibility was to take care of service members and their families before, during, and post deployment.  This is where Mike shined, providing a compassionate level of service to those he guided through some very trying times and why we are excited to have him as a member of the Monarch team!

Outside of work, you will find Mike enjoying the splendor of the U.P. with family and friends.  Although he will miss the mountains of the west, Mike has found his home here in the Marquette area and is excited for this next chapter.
